Lupus

Lupus or Systemic Lupus Erythematosus (SLE) is a rare chronic autoimmune disease that can damage any part of the body, most often the joints, skin, liver, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood, and brain.
“Autoimmunity” means your immune system cannot differentiate between foreign bodies (germs or infections) and your own body’s healthy tissues. As a result, the immune system attacks and destroys healthy tissues. Lupus can range from mild to life-threatening and should always be treated and continuously monitored by a doctor.

Lupus Trust India

A public charitable trust, established to support patients who are financially backward and fall under the below poverty line category, the trust will facilitate their treatment and rehabilitation. The trust will also strive hard to render psychological, social and emotional support to the affected.

Our Team

We are a group of Lupus fighters who have had multiple organ involvement and are being treated with immunosuppressants, steroids and cyclophosphamide (chemotherapeutic drugs) to name a few. Our organ involvements include kidneys, liver, lungs and heart.

Founded by Lupus patients in Kerala and joined by affected people from all of India, our goal is to serve patients like us by providing cost effective treatment, spreading awareness of this rare disease, information about medication and lifestyle solutions.

Why join hands with us?

Your support can be of immense help to many. The long-term medication required for treatment can have Catastrophic Health Expenditure (CHE) for the financially backward patients. The unfortunate outcome is often the discontinuation of medication and regular follow-ups, which lead to severe organ damages.

Lupus Trust India is committed to ensuring quality care for those who cannot afford treatment and we warmly invite you to join us in this journey.
